Grace and Disability: Biblical models for inclusive leadership
As a human characteristic ‘grace’ is uncommonly seen in social, community and government leadership in the modern era. Economic, competitive and personal pride of power tends to dominate leadership styles. Subsequently community members with disabilities are often recipients of poor levels of understanding and attitudes lacking in grace and respect, showing an adherence to and belief in deficit models towards those with disability. This presentation considers Scriptural models of grace shown towards individuals with disabilities, describing and discussing their value and benefit to the individual, and to those around.
